Raines I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Troy Buchanan High School. I look forward to a great year and am excited to be part of your high school experience. I feel like I know many of you already as I make my return to TBHS. Several of you will remember me from my days at Troy Middle School or my time at the Ninth Grade Center but for those of you who do not know me, I'm starting my twentieth year in the Lincoln County School District, eleven of which have been at Troy Buchanan High School.

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I return to the building that has helped me grow into the educator that I am today. I return with a vast amount of personal growth, experience, and knowledge that I am eager to share with the students, parents, faculty, and community. I return with two quotes that I strive to live by, "Lead with Vision" and "Work Hard, Make No Excuses, and Finish the Task at Hand." I have a vision, a vision that takes Troy Buchanan High School to new heights. I envision a school where students are safe, and where students are disappointed when Saturday arrives. I envision a school where the faculty is well versed in its content, but more importantly well versed in building positive relationships with students and parents. I envision a place where: academics are just as, if not, more important than activities, extra-curricular as well as co-curricular opportunities are valued educational tools, and technology is rooted in the core content of every class. I envision a TBHS where parents are deeply involved in the educational process of their children, where the community's needs are being satisfied by the educational process of it's children; a place where the community motto is "Proud to be a Trojan". In short, I believe we can be the premier High School in the Premier School District in the state of Missouri. Is this a lofty goal? You bet!   Is it going to take hard work? Absolutely! Is it going to happen over-night? Not if we want it done right! It's going to take team work from a dedicated staff, a supportive community, and a passionate leadership team. I believe TBHS, the Lincoln County School District, and the community that it serves has these ingredients. I relish the opportunity to work hard without making excuses in order to finish the task at hand. I will leave you with these final words, I'm going to do everything in my power to make this vision a reality because "I'm Proud to be a Trojan" and will be for life.
