At this week’s regularly scheduled meeting, the LCR3 Board of Education voted to discontinue the Continuity of Services Plan as it pertains to COVID19 mitigation practices. As the community continues to move into lower transmission levels and our schools see a very low number of students and employees reporting positive tests, Board members feel that the time is right for this step. This includes the discontinuation of masking on buses and contact tracing.
However, should a student or employee test positive, the District will continue to follow CDC guidelines and ask that the individual quarantine for five days from the onset of symptoms or the administration of a positive test (whichever is earlier). Upon return to campus, the individual will be asked to wear a mask through day 10.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership as we continue to work together to keep our community safe.
Yours in Education,
Mark S. Penny, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
