Troy Buchanan High School



    Mr. Eric Blankenship 
    (Director of Bands)
    Mr. Blankenship is in his eightenth year as Director of Bands at Troy Buchanan High School. Prior to his appointment in Troy, he spent four years as the Assistant Band Director at Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri. 

    Mr. Blankenship attended Truman State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance , and a Master of Arts in Education. Mr. Blankenship is married to Molly, and they have two children, Max and Mallory.
    Mr. Chris Barchesky
    (Associate Director of Bands)
    Mr. Barchesky is in his fifth year as Associate Director of Bands at Troy Buchanan High School. He directs the concert band and ninth grade band, assists with both of the marching bands, and teaches beginning guitar. Additionally, he serves as one of the directors at Troy South and Troy Middle School, where he works with the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands.

    Mr. Barchesky earned his Master’s of Education in Music Education with a focus in wind conducting and his Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education (summa cum laude) from the University of Missouri. Prior to joining the band staff at Troy, Mr. Barchesky taught for five years as the Assistant Director of Bands in the Sullivan School District in Sullivan, Missouri. He also served as a part-time band director in the Columbia Public Schools while he pursued his graduate degree.
