The Lincoln County R‐III School District Latchkey Program was developed in 2008 due to the implementation of a tiered bus system and to answer the needs of our working parents. We strive to provide a safe and supportive environment that encourages social, emotional, physical and
Our goal is to provide a fun environment abundant with the opportunity to explore and learn something new. Our focus will be safety and Character Education, designed to further enhance our children's creativity, problem‐solving, and decision making skills by offering plenty of opportunities with a variety of activities. We utilize the Computer Lab, Library, Gym, and provide "centers" which also include art and science in our cafeteria, as well as outside play. This allows for the child to be involved in child‐directed activities while staff encourages and monitors their "play." Children learn through "hands‐on," child driven, age appropriate activities that encourage them to investigate, imagine, and be creative.
The role of you, the parent, is vital to our program. It is critical that the partnership between home, school, and Latchkey is strong and "on the same page." We want to be consistent and have positive communication with you in regards to your child's time in Latchkey.
