What is an Elementary Guidance Counselor?
The elementary guidance counselor works with all children, not just with students having problems. The counseling program assists students in acquiring the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful learners and good citizens. A major focus of the elementary counseling program is on prevention and involves classroom guidance lessons based on our district character education traits, the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, and the Missouri Model Guidance Program.
