  • A big CONGRATULATIONS to Troy Buchanan High School Senior, Micaela Smith who won 1st place at the Missouri State Poetry Society contest!!

    Micaela's poem:
"I was born in a time of water.
    A crab,
    My home, the ocean
But I am grounded on land.
If I stay on this land, I will be trapped.
My only protection is a flimsy little shell
Against the worst predators in the universe:
    They exploit what don’t understand-
Just to keep them in jars.
    Is that my fate?
Or do I try the ocean
Where they will still hunt me down?
Only this time, I could be torn apart.
They will rip my soul from my body
And devour me piece by piece.
    The moon is my inspiration.
It is free. It has power.
Without the moon, our tides are uncontrolled-
Like the moon, I am a reflection.
As the moon reflects the sun
I reflect the role models in my life
    Unlike my sister,
Who goes against the tide set up for us,
I want to be my own person.
So I will raise the sails, and start my life-
Soon to set off on a sea of emotions.
Someday I will return a new person
But for now, I’m just a crab,
    Finally making a decision."

  • 2021 Proposition S

Proposition S is a request for voter approval to transfer funds within the District's tax levy. A levy transfer is an opportunity for the school district to transfer some of the allotted tax dollars received from one fund to another. In the case of Proposition S, the LCR3 School District is asking voters to approve a transfer of $0.2185 from the debt service levy to the operating levy. This results in no change to the total tax rate.

Proposition S will be on the April 6, 2021 ballot.
