Ninth Grade Center
Dear Ninth Grade Students and Families,
Welcome to Lincoln County R-III Ninth Grade Academy, home of the Trojans!
The Lincoln County R-III School District is transforming the way we do high school by implementing the Career Academy model. Beginning in the 2021-2022 school year, ninth grade students will be the first class to engage in the Career Academy model. Career Academies are smaller learning communities, or schools within a school, that allow students to connect what they are learning in the classroom with real world applications. These academies provide students with a new kind of educational experience that helps them thrive in today’s economy. All freshman at the Ninth Grade Academy will be enrolled in a Freshman Seminar course focusing on the following:
- Self exploration
- Employable skills
- Career exploration
- Goal setting and self-management
- Life after high school
- Financial literacy
- Getting a job
The faculty and staff strive to provide a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment. We are committed to ensuring that every student has a successful transition from middle school as they begin their high school careers. These commitments lay the groundwork for our district’s mission, Trusting Relationships and Superior Instruction.
As a building, we are convinced that by working together in a collaborative manner with a focus on student learning and continuous improvement, we will successfully support each of our students as they grow and learn with us. We also believe it is crucial to have support from our stakeholders, which includes our parents and guardians.
Thank you for choosing the Ninth Grade Academy as your home and we look forward to working with you this school year!
