Prior to the beginning of the school year, the Troy FFA Chapter was part of Missouri FFA's virtual Leadership Development Events. Following the closing of Missouri schools back in March and the subsequent cancellation of the Missouri State FFA Convention, Missouri FFA leadership developed a plan to proceed with the Leadership Development Events (contests) in virtual formats.
Success stories from the event included Karson Calvin, our FFA Creed Speaker, who was the Northeast District Champion, and finished 4th in the state event. Karson was required to submit a recording of himself delivering the FFA Creed which was evaluated by a group of judges both on the district and state levels.
Additional success included the Parliamentary Procedure team who was selected as the Northeast District Champions as well as the Missouri FFA State Champions. The team consisted of Konnor Calvin (who served as chairman), Cooper Geisendorfer, James Justus, Molly Ladlie, Griffin St. Pierre, and Tyler Young. The parliamentary procedure team competed virtually via Zoom while being evaluated by contest judges.
