- Comments Discussion on Wellness policy before its 1st read at BOE meeting
To Do:
Invite staff, parents and BOE member to be on the committee(Mende)
Next Meeting: Holly mentioned the wellness committee to the board for the awareness at the January meeting.
Reviewed policy and going to look into the Competitive Foods and Beverage and Celebrations and Food Sharing more thoroughly with Sarah (consulting attorney) and Holly (HR Director)
During our meeting, we discussed vending machines and looked at smart snacks. We think we should look into switching all vending machines 100% to smart snacks. Except for maybe TBHS, still want to look into 50/50.
Next steps:
- Create a letter to send to staff, parents, and BOE member (Mende & Kaytlynn)
- Decide on meeting cadence
- Come up with a plan on how to move forward with vending machines and the canteen
- Decide on detailed processes for buildings to implement around Celebrations and Food Sharing and when it must be implemented going forward.
