Embark on an epic summer reading adventure at Powell Memorial Library! From June 1st to August 9th, brace yourself for a fun summer reading extravaganza! Packed with fun reading challenges and programs tailored to every age group, this is not your ordinary reading adventure. Prizes

Babies & Toddlers

Babies & toddlers will receive some of the fun items we use at storytime!  At each check-in point, they will receive items such as shaky eggs, castanets, rhythm sticks, scarves, etc.  This will help you continue the storytime fun at home! Upon successfully meeting their reading goal for 30 days, children are extended an invitation to a pool party.

Children

Children will set their personal reading objectives with the support of their parent(s)/guardian(s) as outlined in the reading log. Upon registration, every child is given a croc charm bracelet. As they reach designated milestones, they earn charms to adorn their bracelets. Additionally, they will receive a food coupon at specified intervals noted in the reading log. Upon successfully meeting their reading goal for 30 days, children are extended an invitation to a pool party.

Teens & Tweens

For every book read, teens & tweens will receive a raffle ticket into a drawing.  Drawings are for $25 gift cards to the following businesses: Target, Amazon, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, and Lululemon.  Drawings will be held on June 30 and August 10. If your ticket is not drawn on June 30, it will be put into the August 10 drawing.

Adults

For every book read, adults will receive a raffle ticket into a drawing.  Drawings are for $25 gift cards to the following businesses: T.J. Maxx/Home Goods, Sonic, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Michaels, Domino’s, and Lowe’s.  Drawings will be held on June 30 and August 10. If your ticket is not drawn on June 30, it will be put into the August 10 drawing.
