Amy, Porter

Dr. Amy Porter has nearly three decades of experience in education, leadership, and adult learning. A dedicated educator and instructional leader, Dr. Porter has served as a teacher as well as a building and district leader in Troy, where she led school-wide initiatives focused on student achievement, collaborative learning, and positive school culture. 

In addition to her K–12 leadership experience, Dr. Porter has worked extensively with adult learners as an adjunct professor at Missouri Baptist University and the American College of Education, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in educational leadership, classroom management, and literacy integration.
Beyond her work in education, Dr. Porter plays a significant leadership role in our community through two Troy-based nonprofits. Buddy Bags provides food to more than 400 children each weekend, ensuring they have the nourishment they need outside of school. Bright Futures Lincoln County supports families by meeting basic needs such as clothing and shoes, while connecting them to resources that promote long-term stability. Both organizations have been serving the community for over 15 years and continue to thrive under strong local support.
Throughout her career, Dr. Porter has been recognized for her contributions to education, including involvement in a National School of Character designation and multiple Promising Practice Awards. In retirement, she continues to live in Troy and is eager to invest in our community in a new way through the LCR3EF.
