Innovative Learning

In the Lincoln County R-III School District, our mission is built on exemplary experiences, trusting relationships, and superior instruction. We believe that great teaching comes first, and technology is most powerful when it supports those human connections.

By using iPads and other digital tools, we give our students more ways to explore their interests, express their creativity, and share their unique voices. The following five pillars show how we use these resources to go beyond the basics and create a future-ready environment where every student can thrive.

Two girls collaborate at a desk, looking at a tablet screen in a classroom.Collaboration transforms individual assignments into valuable, shared experiences. By balancing face-to-face interaction with real-time digital tools, we facilitate "joint reasoning" where students negotiate ideas and take collective ownership of their work. This blend of hands-on discussion and collaborative technology teaches students the essential interpersonal skills required for success in a modern, connected world.

Students achieve deeper engagement by producing high-quality work for real-world audiences, empowered to select the tools that best express their ideas and foster pride in their work.

By leveraging robust accessibility features, we ensure equitable access for every learner, regardless of their starting point. This student-centered approach fosters ownership and inspires learners to tackle challenges that are uniquely meaningful to them.

In our classrooms, students are encouraged to deeply analyze and evaluate information, moving beyond rote memorization to tackle problems that often have more than one right answer.

A young person kneels in a forest, using a tablet to examine a mossy mound. When students engage with real-world learning, they bridge the gap between the classroom and the community. LCR3 prioritizes projects that address authentic problems, allowing students to use the same tools and workflows as professionals. By moving beyond theoretical exercises to connect with actual audiences, our learners develop a deeper sense of purpose and understand how their unique skills apply to the world around them.
